I am interested in using agroecological treatments to encourage roots to grow further into the deeper soil layers. The goal is to tap into the resources found in the subsoil so that plants can easily access them. I want to explore the potential of deeper roots, cereal-legume mixtures, and crop rotation to strengthen the ability/resilience of crops to withstand the impacts of climatic extremes i.e. droughts.
